Problem:
Wanted: A more efficient way to convey fiber cans of various sizes through
Pillsbury's New Albany, IN, USA plant. Lower maintenance costs were a prime objective.
Solution:
Since the fiber cans had ferrous caps, magnetic handling was possible. Eriez
Magna-Rails®,
installed under conveyor belts, replaced double-belt non-magnetic vertical can lifts. The lifts required lengthy changeover downtime each time the can size was changed, which was eliminated by magnetic handling.
