Problem:

Venkateshwara Hatcheries Ltd., a major producer of pelletized animal feeds in India, experienced costly damage to their extrusion dies caused by unwanted tramp iron, such as nuts, bolts and other stray machinery parts.

Solution:

An Eriez Deep Reach Permanent Magnetic Separator was added to the production process beneath the pelletizer feed hopper, but just ahead of the point where steam was introduced, eliminating potential temperature effect on the magnet. The Deep Reach is expected to catch all damaging iron tramp metal before it reaches the extruder.
